Yes, we can design with XHTML to be compliant with standards for both XML and HTML at the same time! Frankly, most web designers are simply unable to create valid HTML. XHTML is more difficult because it requires strict adherence to the published standard. If you want data from your web site to also be accessible by mobile phone, XHTML is the way to go. Real estate is an example of an industry where XHTML data would be handy.
